Ushuaia is a large town of over 63,000 people and capital of the Tierra del Fuego Province in Argentina. It is a fishing center as well as the gateway to the beautiful scenery of the southern tip of Argentina. The Tierra del Fuego National Park is accessible both by highway and by the End of the World Train, which is a scenic adventure in itself. The park includes the sub-antarctic Patagonian Forest and the high Andes as well as glaciers, waterfalls and lakes. It is the southernmost national park in the world. An interesting event within Ushuaia is the Bienniel of Contemporary Art at the End of the World where artists from all over the world meet to discuss art, science and ecology. Las Eclaireurs Lighthouse, a red and white striped conical lighthouse situated on a tiny isle, is another popular site and an icon of coastal South America.
