Mobile Carnival Museum features exciting exhibits, such as crowns and robes of Mardi Gras monarchs. Families will enjoy the 14 rooms filled with carnival related pictures and items dating back to 1886. There is even a theater to view film of the beginnings of the tradition of Mardi Gras. The Gulf Coast Exploreum Science Center’s 150 plus exhibits were created with children of all ages in mind. The exhibits extend from eight different categories including a section dedicated to biology and another one dedicated to chemistry. There is also a display centered around anatomy and physiology, featuring a nutrition section, a blood pressure monitoring demonstration and a virtual surgery showcase. Estuarium at Dauphin Island Sea Lab features animals, natural resources and plants found amongst the land. This includes an octopus, seahorses, whales, sea turtles and sharks. The lab is a weather station, so visitor can see first-hand how forecasters figure out weather conditions.
